Get your questions together and your notepad and pen ready to take notes. Then, on Friday, Oct. 25, head out to the town hall meeting at Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in Orlando.
That’s when the Democratic Black Caucus of Florida, along with the Office of State Senator Dwight Bullard, the ACLU and NAACP and other local organizations plan to put on the town hall meeting from 6 to 8 p.m.
This town hall meeting in Orlando is a part of a series of meetings statewide (The Florida Speaks Tour) hosted by state and local officials and community leaders to hear from residents, mainly addressing violations of their civil liberties. Organizers say testimonies from residents will be documented and presented to the state Legislature as well as Governor Rick Scott and his cabinet.
City of Orlando Commissioner Sam B. Ings, State Rep. Bruce Antone and Victor Torres have partnered together to bring the town hall meeting to Orlando.
Mt. Pleasant M.B. Church is located at 4077 Prince Hall Boulevard, Orlando, FL 32811.
