Blankets, Jackets, etc. For The Homeless

Look around your home or while you’re out shopping, look for an extra blanket or quilt that could be used to keep a homeless person in our area warm. (In certain spots of the community, people are living in cars or outside – not near a shelter.) blankets

There’s a grassroot effort going on to help keep homeless people warm.

The WOKB – 1680 AM radio station is partnering with New Destiny Christian Center (Pastor Paula White) to sponsor what organizers are calling, “Keeping the Community Warm!”

Volunteers are collecting blankets, coats, boots and any other clothing to give away. They could use a helping hand in the effort – from businesses that can give in a major way to individuals who can donate an item or two.

You can either drop off these items to the station or simply give them to a homeless person or family you notice outside.

The radio station’s address is: 50 S. Clark Road in Ocoee.
