Run to Partly Benefit At-Risk Youth

Organizers of the 1st Annual Reggae Soca 5k Run in Orlando are inviting young track club members and youth groups to take part in the event at a discounted rate of $10 per person versus the regular $25 per person.

The event, also called the Reggae Run and sponsored by the Caribbean American Passport news magazine, will be held on Sunday, Nov. 3 at Harbor Park, 4990 New Broad Street, Orlando, FL 32814 (within the Baldwin Park community). It starts at 4:30 p.m.

Youth group and track club members who want to run in the event should register by Friday, Nov. 1.

Part of the money raised from this event will go toward mentoring at risk children.

In addition to the run, there will be food such as jerk chicken available for sale, music at each stop on the run and organizations with information on how to become a mentor.

To register, contact Guenet Gittens-Roberts by email at guenetroberts@yahoo.com or by phone:  407-427-1800. Online: https://reggaesoca5k.eventbrite.com/
