Prepare for Sales Tax Holiday Aug 4-6

School will be starting again soon throughout Central Florida and parents may want to start preparing now.

One way to prepare and save money if you have to shop for school supplies: Mark your calendars to shop between 12:01 a.m. on Friday, August 4 and 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, August 6.

That weekend is Florida’s 2017 Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday, according to the state’s Department of Revenue’s web page.

You can save money by not paying taxes on some school supplies that’s $15 or less per item; clothing, footwear, and some accessories that’s $60 or less per item and personal computers and accessories – for personal use that’s $750 or less per item.
See the list of qualifying items and more information at the Department of Revenue’s 2017 Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday web page.
