There’s a water and supplies drive in Orlando on Saturday, March 19, to benefit people more than a thousand miles away – in Flint, Michigan. We know that neighbors are not only next door but around the corner and throughout the world.
The drive, called the Sunshine For Flint Community Donation Day, will take place at the Washington Shores Church of Christ, 2818 Orange Center Boulevard, Orlando, Florida, 32805. Time: 1-5 p.m.
Organizers and volunteers will collect lead water filters (no Brita), cases of water or gallons, personal hygiene items such as soap, toothbrushes-toothpaste as well as infant care items (diapers) and sheet-mattress protectors.
You can also donate money (goal is $3000 for this effort but surely more is needed by recipients – residents of Flint affected by the water crisis).
