It’s June. Before you know it, it will be time for Orange County voters to cast their ballots.
Who’s running and why? Voters can find out on Thursday, June 19, at the Pine Hills Community Center.
That’s when the Pine Hills Community Council and the Robinswood Community Improvement Association sponsors its “Pine Hills Candidates Forum/Meet & Greet.”
The event, starting at 6:30 p.m., will feature candidates for Orange County Commissioner District 2 and District 6.
Orange County commissioners serve four year terms and the races are non-partisan. Both current District 2 Commissioner Fred Brummer and District 6 Commissioner Tiffany Moore Russell have reached the term limits for their seats.
There are quite a few candidates vying for the two seats so voters definitely may be interested in attending this forum.
There are six candidates for District 2: Prince Brown, Greg Jackson, Alvin Moore; Bryan Nelson, Patricia Rumph and Bridgett Yvette Sykes. There are also six candidates for District 6: Lawanna Gelzer, Homer Hartage, Victoria Siplin; Derrick Wallace, Roberta Wallace and Virginia Whittington.
The Pine Hills Community Center is located at 6408 N. Jennings Road, off Powers Drive.
The Primary Election is on Aug. 26 and the General Election is on Nov. 4.
