If you have waited to get a deal on a new family computer or a computer for your child, you may be in luck. That is if you can buy one over the August 2-4 weekend and you can find one priced at $750 or less.
That’s when the state of Florida throws its Sales Tax Holiday, requiring businesses not to collect any state sales tax or local option tax on the sales of clothing, footwear, and certain accessories selling for $75 or less per item, on certain school supplies selling for $15 or less per item, and on personal computers and certain related accessories selling for $750 or less per item, when purchased for noncommercial home or personal use.
Let your friends and families visiting for that weekend know that the tax savings is not available at theme parks, entertainment complexes, public lodging establishments, and airports.
Go to the state’s Department of Revenue for more details: http://www.myflorida.com. Click on Find an Agency at the top of the page and then select the link for Revenue (Department of Revenue).
