March 2, 2026 (Orange County, FL) — Early voting started today for several Orange County cities, so if you live in Apopka, Oakland, Maitland or Eatonville, research what’s on your sample ballot, go out and do your civic duty – vote!

For registered voters in Maitland, Apopka and Oakland, early voting will run through Sunday, March 8. Hours: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Voters there can go to either the Supervisor of Elections Office (119 W. Kaley Ave., Orlando, FL 32806) or the Apopka Community Center (519 S. Central Ave., Apopka, FL 32703) to vote early.

Eatonville voters can vote early at the elections office through Friday, March 6. Same hours: 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. (The town’s election day is Saturday, March 7, at the Eatonville Town Hall. Election day for the other municipalities is Tuesday, March 10.)

Take responsibility. If you’re concerned about the direction of our country, state and Central Florida community, now is the time to take part in the political process and vote wisely (for people and issues that have your best interests at heart).

Two of the municipalities have open mayoral seats – the Town of Eatonville and City of Apopka. Apopka voters will also decide on eight (8) charter amendments, including one to change from a mayor-council to a council-manager form of government and another one to establish terms limits.

The Town of Eatonville could see major development in the near future with the sale of the old Hungerford property by the Orange County School Board to Dr. Phillips Charities. It is a vacant 117-acre property close to Interstate 4, at the intersection of Wymore Road and Kennedy Boulevard (the town’s main thoroughfare).
