Orlando Community News (OCN) is a community organization with two main functions: freelance writing and editing as well as online news publishing, providing quality briefs, articles and photos depicting of the lives and livelihood of Pine Hills, FL, Orange County, FL and surrounding areas.

The organization was started in May 2011 by Orlando resident Trish Martin. Her vision was to bring balance in the news coverage of the densely populated area of Pine Hills, just west of Orlando, Florida. It has spread from there. A beacon of hope for the community, OCN disseminates good news and helpful information.

Orlando Community News online, updated weekly (sometimes more often), feature articles and photos on politics, education, business as well as lifestyle and faith. Its main coverage area includes: Pine Hills, Rosemont, Orlo Vista, Metrowest and Lockhart, along with other parts of Orlando and Orange County.

Residents, business owners and non-profit organizations in those areas are welcome to submit interesting story ideas and/or photo opportunities. Editors and publishers can now reach more subscribers (in a very diverse market, appealing to more advertisers) and save on staff costs by enlisting OCN services.

This is your community website! There is no cost. Feel free to send your story ideas, photos about good things happening in the community, to: orlandocommunitynews@gmail.com or post a comment directly on the website: www.orlandocommunitynews.com. Please submit information at least two(2) weeks before your event. Photos with proper credit and subject names are welcome.
