The Black Men’s Health Summit on Saturday, June 14, in Orlando, does not count as a doctor’s office visit but it sure is a step in the right direction.
The free summit, sponsored by the Central Florida Pharmacy Council, will include a breakfast buffet at 8 a.m., along with health screenings, cooking demonstrations and workshops throughout the day. One of the screenings, for prostate cancer, will be available for men ages 40 and older at a suggested $10 donation. Early detection is key to survival.
It will all take place at the Orange County Convention Center North Concourse, 9400 Universal Boulevard, Orlando, FL 32819.
